The Rich History & Tradition of St. Patrick's Parish...

  1885 - St. Patrick's parish was established.
  1886 - 1st St. Patrick's Catholic Church built at 2nd Ave. & 7th St. West.
  1891 - New Church built at 1st Ave. & 5th St. Old church moved to rear and became a Catholic school. Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary began teaching the children of St. Pat's parish. 100 students enrolled.
  1903 - After 12 years of steady growth, new St. Pat's School was dedicated.
  1915 - Sisters moved into own residence, thus freeing up space in the school for additional students.
  1925 - New Rectory built.
  1929 - New School built.
  1949 - Major remodeling of Church.
  1970 - St. Patrick's school in Fairfax closed and its students were absorbed by St. Patrick's, Cedar Rapids.
  1994 - Consolidation of Catholic grade schools. St. Pat's becomes Holy Family Middle School.
  2001 - School closed due to relocation to Lasalle building.
  2003 - $1 million capital campaign gets underway to build a new Parish Center.
