BAPTISM OF INFANTS AND CHILDREN
Infants and children are baptized into the faith community of their parents. As the faith community assists the baptized through prayer and support, it is necessary for the parents asking for baptism to members of St. Patrick Church.
PARENT CLASS (REQUIRED)
Parents and required to attend a 2 hours class prior to the baptism. Classes are held on a monthly basis. Contact PENNY ACKERMAN for class information and to register.
BAPTISM OF CHILDREN/YOUTH OF SCHOOL AGE
Children old enough to attend school are considered old enough to have the power of discernment. To be sure these older children/youth understand the importance of the Sacrament of Baptism, they will be asked to attend a 1 hour workshop with a parish formation leader. BAPTISM OF ADULTS
Prior to the baptism of adults, formation through RCIA is required. Adult baptisms are usually celebrated during the Easter Vigil. Contact PENNY ACKERMAN for more information.
BAPTISM SCHEDULING
Baptisms are usually celebrated on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month after the 10:00 Mass. (Depending on circumstances, other arrangements can be made.) Parents are required to attend a baptism class prior to the celebration. To schedule a baptism, contact PENNY ACKERMAN.

A CHILD MUST BE IN FORMAL FAITH FORMATION (RELIGIOUS EDUCATION) CLASSES OR ATTEND HOLY FAMILY SCHOOLS FOR AT LEAST ONE (1) YEAR PRIOR TO CELEBRATING THE SACRAMENT OF FIRST RECONCILIATION.

FIRST RECONCILIATION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Children usually celebrate their First Reconciliation in the 2nd grade after they have participated in formal Faith Formation classes. Formation classes are held in the parish RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM or if they attend HOLY FAMILY SCHOOLS, their formation will take place at the school. Formation is critical in helping the children understand the necessity of forgiveness of self and others and to internalize the process of examination of conscience.
Regardless of where formation classes are taken, First Reconciliation is celebrated within the parish.
PARENT MEETING
Parents will be required to attend a meeting prior to their children celebrating First Reconciliation so the parish faith formation coordinator can assist parents in helping their child understand forgiveness of self and others. Contact GERALYN WARD for more information.
PARENT / CHILD RETREAT
A parent/child retreat is held prior to the celebration of First Reconciliation. This retreat allows parents and children to deepen their understanding of the sacrament. Contact GERALYN WARD for more information.

RECONCILIATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE BAPTIZED CAN BE CELEBRATED AT COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE, BEFORE MASS, OR PRIVATE RECONCILIATION. IF YOU DESIRE A PRIVATE RECONCILIATION WITH THE PRIEST, PLEASE CONTACT THE PARISH OFFICE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

FIRST EUCHARIST FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Children usually celebrate their First Eucharist in the spring of their 2nd grade year in school after they have participated in formal Faith Formation classes. Formation classes are held in the parish RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM or if they attend HOLY FAMILY SCHOOLS, their formation will take place at the school. Formation is critical in helping the children understand how this is a continuation of their baptismal promises and how we live in and through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
Regardless of where formation classes are taken, First Eucharist is celebrated within the parish.

| CONFIRMATION FOR YOUTH
High school youth who are in their freshman year of high school or older are invited to enter into a one (1) year preparation period for the Sacrament of Confirmation. During this preparation journey, (see RELIGIOUS EDUCATION) the youth are encouraged to begin living their Catholic faith as an adult while continuing their formation studies in scripture and doctrine. These classes are held in the parish regardless of school affiliation. Contact GERALYN WARD for more information.
CONFIRMATION FOR ADULTS

COMMUNAL ANOINTING
St. Patrick schedules communal anointed twice a year; once the summer and again during the winter season. Please watch the bulletin or contact the PARISH OFFICE (362-7966) for dates and times.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK BEFORE SURGERY
If you are scheduled for surgery, you can contact the priest FR. NIENHAUS to schedule a time to meet so you can be anointed.
ANOINTING IF HOSPITALIZED
If you are unexpectedly hospitalized, you can to be anointed by the priest covering the hospital or you can contact the parish office (362-7966) and the staff will contact a priest for you.
Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
